Charlotte, NC and Alpharetta, GA (Friday, April 6, 2010) – Mission Hospital Selects VIZZIA To Provide Equipment Distribution Services.

VIZZIA chooses Patient Care Technology Systems to Co-Develop their proprietary Information Portal.

Patient Care Technology Systems (PCTS), a subsidiary of Consulier Engineering Inc. (NASDAQ: CSLR), and VIZZIA Technologies (VIZZIA) today announced that Mission Hospital has selected VIZZIA to provide their managed, on-site Equipment Distribution services. As part of VIZZIA’s service, they will deploy CenTrak’s Real Time Location System (RTLS) and their VIZZIONSM information portal, which was co-developed by PCTS and VIZZIA to more effectively manage movable medical equipment assets. VIZZION, built on the PCTS Amelior 360 technology platform, also provides an interface for Temperature Monitoring and key interfaces to other software modules designed to improve patient care and efficiency in a variety of other clinical processes.

Mission Hospital is a 345-bed facility in Mission Viejo, Calif. that includes specialized pediatric care through CHOC Children’s Mission Hospital (CHOC), and is the first and only designated regional trauma center in South Orange County. The integrated medical campus is part of the St. Joseph Health System and has over 700 affiliated physicians. VIZZIA’s technology and services have been approved by the St. Joseph Health System.

Deployment is underway and expected to be fully complete in May. The VIZZIA on-site team and technology will begin by tracking and managing the distribution of approximately 1,700 equipment items with a goal to reduce rentals and future capital purchases, and to eliminate the need for nurse staff to take valuable time away from patient care to search for and clean equipment.  Movable medical equipment such as Sequential Compression Devices (SCD’s), Infusion Pumps and Pulse Oximeter units are among the first assets to be part of their equipment distribution service.

VIZZION web-based software visualizes workflow by automatically identifying the location of the equipment generated from the Real Time Locating System (RTLS) and incorporates important alerts that ensure that the desired procedures are being followed and equipment inventory levels are maintained. The RTLS chosen by VIZZIA for Mission Hospital is CenTrak’s certainty-based Gen2IRTM / RF technology.

The same system will automatically monitor temperatures of sensitive items such as medications and blood bags and will provide in real-time the visibility of temperature status with dynamic watch lists and configurable real-time notifications of temperature events.  This module provides a system capable of monitoring, calibrating and maintaining temperatures of inventory as well as access status in any area or department in real time.

Additional interfaces to hospital and department information systems and communication devices are able to create a centralized workflow communication and management portal that eliminates the need for manual updates and delays caused by a lack of information.  VIZZION information portal will also be compatible with other PCTS software modules that can be integrated in the future, including Amelior EDTracker, Amelior ORTracker and  Amelior 360 Hand Hygiene.

“After completing a variety of complex process assessments in various hospitals, we decided to create a unique information portal with our partner PCTS. VIZZION provides a solid improvement in our operational efficiency while also offering the ability for future expansion to other PCTS offerings,” said Andrew Halasz, president of VIZZIA Technologies. “We help hospitals derive results from their technology investments. Knowing the location of people or equipment is only a small part of the benefits that can be achieved by deploying a Real-Time Location System (RTLS). All too often hospitals make these investments but are unable to get the full return on investment these systems are able to deliver. Our proprietary analytics and service methodologies help deliver the process improvement savings and results that these tracking technologies are capable of.”

“We are pleased to co-develop this unique information portal with our partner VIZZIA,” says Larry Hobson, vice president of strategic initiatives at Patient Care Technology Systems. “We have worked closely with VIZZIA to create a system that will increase operating performance while having the ability to expand into other departments, which will allow them to streamline patient flow, enhance patient care and increase capacity throughout their customer base.”

VIZZIA deploys tracking technology, software and staffing to help hospitals improve how they distribute movable medical equipment and optimize patient and staff workflow.  Their services include process modeling, change management consulting, and equipment distribution support services.

PCTS is a pioneering developer of workflow visibility and automation software. The company’s asset management solution is part of the Amelior Enterprise Visibility Suite, which comprises departmental- to facility-wide software solutions and services designed to more efficiently and safely orchestrate patient care through the real-time visualization of patient flow.
