The Grady Health System in Atlanta, Georgia is one of the largest safety net health systems in the United States. Grady consists of the 953-bed Grady Memorial Hospital, six neighborhood health centers, and the Marcus Stroke and Neuroscience Center.

RTLS Asset Management Optimization
Grady initially selected Vizzia to optimize their legacy asset tracking system. The Vizzia professional services team conducted clinical interviews to discover use cases and performed an extensive audit to ensure maximum facility coverage.
Vizzia then delivered two powerful software modules of Asset Management and Environmental Monitoring to Grady. This enabled their biomedical engineering department to tag and monitor over 8,000 medical devices in real-time across all their facilities.

Clinical Environmental Monitoring
Vizzia is also protecting Grady’s critical medical supplies, including blood storage and COVID-19 vaccines. Stroke Patient Workflow
Grady’s Marcus Stroke and Neuroscience Center has become a magnet for patients across the Southeast. As a designated Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, it is one of a handful of elite facilities providing complex stroke care in the United States.
The Grady stroke care team requested Vizzia’s assistance to identify bottlenecks that delay critical care. Vizzia worked extensively with renowned neuroscience doctors, nurses, and clinicians to create an innovative software solution: StrokeStat℠. Providing immediate treatment to stroke patients is crucial. StrokeStat℠ assists with providing stroke patients with immediate treatment to reduce the long-term effects of a stroke and perhaps save their life. This application enables real-time data collection of patient movements, along the treatment pathway, which is leveraged by the trauma team to minimize critical ‘door to needle’ time when treating acute strokes.
Nurse Call Enhancement:
As the largest hospital in Georgia with 953-beds and 1,645 nurses on staff, Grady needed to enhance their legacy nurse call system. The Vizzia on-site operations team collaborated with Grady and their nurse call provider to optimize the RTLS network to support automated nurse call and staff duress features.
Grady now has 1,019 RTLS staff tags, which has improved the accuracy of locating patients and staff, while providing ongoing maintenance and support to Atlanta’s premier Level I trauma center.
